Private Label Toy Reorder Planning & Packaging MOQ

Plan toy reorders using sellable stock, committed sales, confirmed replenishment time and packaging stock. Keep toy MOQ and packaging reorder MOQ separate.

Count what you can sell and what you can pack.

Private label toy reorder planning needs four separate records: sellable finished units, incoming units, committed sales and usable packaging by revision. Loose toys with no approved retail pack are not finished sellable stock.

Ask for the current SKU price, carton minimum and supplier-ready date. Confirm the squishy toy packaging reorder MOQ with the printer again. The first order does not establish a permanent minimum or price.

A planning trigger you can adjust.

One simple planning model is: reorder trigger = expected unit sales during the confirmed replenishment period + chosen safety stock. Compare that trigger with net stock position: sellable stock + confirmed inbound units − committed units. Choose the safety stock from your own demand variability and risk tolerance.

Illustrative inputs: 24 units/week × an assumed 7-week replenishment period + 48 units safety stock = a 216-unit trigger. If net stock position is 180, the example prompts a reorder review. It does not set the order quantity or promise seven-week delivery. Use actual supplier, approval, inspection and freight dates.

Round the toy order, then check the pack order.

Using the catalog case pack of STS348379, a hypothetical 400-unit requirement rounds up to two full cartons: 528 units, subject to reconfirming supply terms. Assume 200 printed packs remain usable and the printer now requires a 500-pack run. The immediate shortfall is 528 − 200 = 328 packs, but buying 500 leaves 172 new packs after this assembly.

The packaging quantities are invented planning inputs. At an assumed $0.12 per pack, budget $60 for the print run, not $39.36 for only the 328 packs consumed. Add any setup, assembly and storage separately. Confirm the cost and ownership of the remaining 172 packs.

Before approving “same as last time”.

  • Match the supplier model and approved sample version to the reorder.
  • Count usable packaging by revision; inspect stored packs before relying on them.
  • Reconfirm toy MOQ, case pack, printer minimum and any setup charges.
  • Check barcodes, product information and channel instructions for the current order.
  • Record the new ready dates, inspection scope, freight basis and arrival objective.
  • Name the approver for substitutions and revised artwork.

Connect the reorder to the buying budget.

Separate new toy spend, printed packaging bought, assembly, inspection and transport. Keep surplus toys and packs visible as inventory rather than allocating their whole cost only to the units you hope to sell immediately.
